Soil Relieving North Greens

This morning we are soil relieving North Greens in front of play. This involves a tractor mounted aerifier that has 5/16 inch tines and goes to a depth of about 6 inches. The tines also perform a rocking motion under the surface as the machine travels. This benefits the turf by relieving some of the compaction and providing a channel for oxygen and roots below the surface.
