An injured falcon was spotted recently near the reservoir. We were able to capture it and took it to Tri-State Bird Rescue where it was treated and thankfully recovered in about two weeks. The falcon, which was a female Merlin, had a head injury assumed to be caused by another bird of prey. Yesterday, Mrs. Peterson, a volunteer at Tri-State, released the healthy Merlin at the Sheep barn near the reservoir returning it to its original habitat.
