June brought through many storms with lots of rain and windy conditions. We have not had any significant tree damage on the golf courses; however, lots of debris has fallen causing clean up to be tedious. Some lightning damage has also occurred to the irrigation system. The picture below demonstrates a pvc pipe explosion from lighting traveling through the ground.

Bunkers have also been an issue with all the recent rain events. The potential for sand to wash out on the North course is significant, due to older construction methods not utilizing bunker liners which can prevent sand and soil from washing down the faces. Drainage is also very poor in the bunkers requiring the water to be pumped out following rain events.

Mowing has been limited at times due to wet conditions, especially in the rough. Once we are able to mow without damaging the turf, we will have the rough back in its normal conditions.
