This morning we used an aggressive verticutting machine, known as a Graden, on the new putting green behind the clubhouse. If you remember from the article detailing our planned maintenance of the putting green, this process is done in order to help eliminate the layer that forms from the sod. Blades that are 2 millimeters wide cut approximately an inch into the green. Material that is removed is replaced by sand. The pictures below demonstrate the process that took place.
