Today we topdressed north tees, punched holes using cross tines and then brushed the sand into the canopy with a pull behind brush. The cross tine allows for a 1/2 inch hole but is not as visually disruptive as a conventional 1/2 inch round tine. The holes allow oxygen to the root zone and gas exchange. Incorporation of sand helps in thatch dilution and firming up the surface of the tee.
